Writing isn't just words on paper. Right now, I'm deconstructing my #WIP to figure out why it's stalling out yet again. The dining room table is covered in post it notes and index cards breaking down scenes, maps, backstory information, genealogy charts, and a big box of thumbtacks because I have a bulletin board up where even MORE notes are gathering.
Yesterday I went through every scene and added a "what if" note to it. "What if, before this fight, the antagonist isn't a stranger but someone the MC had met before?" ... "what if instead of saying no, this guy changes his mind and grudgingly says yes?"... etc.
This morning I'm going down a bit of a research rabbit hole about religion and technology.
It's all writing. And I LOVE IT.
First image from Sentinel-6B extends sea-level legacy
Copernicus Sentinel-6B, launched last month, has reached its orbit and delivered its first set of data, which show variations in sea level in the North Atlantic Ocean. This data underlines how the mission will continue to strengthen the long-term reference record of sea levels, a key parameter of climate change.

It's actually fascinating to me to compare which foods are eaten in which regions of my country. In the grocery biz, I could always tell when we got out of towners, people absolutely livid that we didn't carry poppyseed filling. If they were shouting, I would purposely make it worse by asking quizzically "What do you use it for?"
You won't find gumbo filé for sale anywhere outside of the South. I always had to order extra around Christmas for the Cajun/Creole crowd. On the other side of things, we only recently started selling jars of mincemeat here. (It doesn't sell well.) People don't eat fresh artichokes as often down here, either because the ones from Florida are not that great. California produce is different from Florida produce. The best peaches come from South Carolina, even though Georgia is the "Peach State." The number one crop here

A lot of peanuts come from here, too, and all of the Vidalia onions.
I have lived in many corners of the country, and besides a new accent and terminology, I have had to adjust to the food each time.
