Oooh, it's so satisfying when someone asks a question about some abstract thing that they are referencing but don't know the original reference and others come through and provide the original source of the reference.

Or when someone says, "I saw this article once, about Y through the lens of Z -- does anyone know what I'm talking about?" and someone drops the link in the thread.

@mkj It's so fun to see it in action!

One brain goes dormant/foggy around one little thing and other brains happily spring to action to supply the missing info. ❤️

Friend of mine just attended a fairly high profile seminar about the future of marketing & business trends - they were informed that the hottest ticket & fastest-growing trend right now & for 2026 is "No AI".

We got a good chuckle out of that 😂

You know, this really outta be one of those get-nothing-done kinda weeks, but it seems like production is in full swing! Where's all the Christmas treats in the lunch room??
Where's the sewing tin full of cookies? The chocolates? The funeral sandwiches? This is messed up 😠

Kristin Du Mez, who knew Rob Reiner personally and collaborated with him on a documentary about Christian nationalism, replicates Trump's vile statements about Reiner after he and his wife were murdered by their son, and says,

"I think it’s important to look this evil in the eye, and I think Reiner would have wanted us to."

Where Trump occupies a category all his own is in his breathtaking moral depravity."

I think we all need to stop talking about Trump's health, and focus instead on his utter lack of a conscience.

If we all work very hard, Trump can someday be brought to trial for his crimes against humanity, and the last thing we want to do is enable some kind of insanity defense.

My mother had Alzheimer's and episodes of psychosis. The geriatric doctor had spent time explaining the effects to us and how to spot the progress of disease.

My mom said and did bad things, but we knew that it was the disease, not her.

Similarly, we should have pity for the king of USA because he puts his mental illness on display for the whole world to see. Any anger should be directed towards Congress and the VP who do not invoke the 25th amendment.

in reply to Jean-Francois Mezei

@jfmezei My mother declined from dementia, and could often be angry and abusive. Unfortunately, she had been that way prior to her mental decline, too. I can understand why people treat what Trump is doing and who Trump is differerntly, and why pity is not our initial response. Trump has a demonstrated history of malevolence, cruelty, destructiveness, and abusiveness. and people rarly pity powerful figures driven by those tendencies. Rightly so, I'd say, given the power to harm these folks have.
in reply to William Lindsey

Dementia will amplify things, but also intoduce new ones. My mom decided that my 90 year old dad was having an affair with her 20 year old hairdresser 😉

For The Reiners, Trump's post shows loss of ability to gauge a situation and react as if he were in a sitcom , not realising this was a real death.

in reply to Jean-Francois Mezei

@jfmezei Yes, I think dementia often lets out the traits that were already there and exacerbates them. I don't attribute Trump's malevolent response to the Reiners' death to dementia alone. I think this is simply who Trump is and has always been.
in reply to William Lindsey

Donald Trump is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being any other sociopath has ever known in their life.
