Our new SOXS instrument has made its first observations! 🥳
Installed on the New Technology Telescope at the La Silla Observatory in #Chile, this unique facility will quickly observe fleeting cosmic events, such as supernovae explosions or fast-moving asteroids. SOXS obtains spectra at optical and infrared wavelengths simultaneously, something key with rapidly changing events.
