Historical texts reported that #Romans used slaked lime to make #concrete, and mixed the lime with water before adding it to other ingredients, such as volcanic ash.

Chemical analysis of the dry, pre-mixed piles found in the Pompeii workshop shows that the ancient concreters were, in fact, using a hot mixing method involving quicklime, or calcium oxide.

1/x Gestern war es mir dann zuviel wieder abzuschätzen wann die günstigste Zeit Nachts wäre das #EAuto zu laden.

Die #Automatisierung per #HomeAssistant funktioniert nun voll automatisch.

Ein Sensor holt sich die #Tibber viertelstündlichen Strompreise von morgen. Modul 3 zeitvariable Netzentgelte sind da noch nicht enthalten. Wir zahlen von 0-6 Uhr < 2 Cent / kWh.

Ein anderer Sensor ermittelt ständig die benötigte kWh, die es zu laden gilt um auf 90 % zu kommen.

2/x Ein weiterer Sensor berechnet anhand bekannter Ladekurve eine geschätze Ladedauer.

Ein Sensor für die günstigste Startzeit iteriert durch die ersten 24 Preise von Morgen und ermittelt anhand der bekannten Ladedauer die beste Startzeit.

Der letzte Sensor kann nun einfach die Endzeit anhand Startzeit und Ladedauer bestimmen um den Batterieladestand auf 90 % zu begrenzen.

Diese Jinja-Syntax ist schon was für sich.

If, like me, you absolutely hate the recently introduced sidebar-like overlay "side-panel" that opens up when you click tickets in #GitLab, I finally found the obscure place where you can turn it off.

It's not in your user preferences or kebab menu, it's… tucked in that little "Display options" icon-only button between the tickets searchbar and the sorting order combobox:

Hobie gave me a bit of a scare just now. He came into my room like he was going to jump up on my bed, but then he started wobbling side to side and fell over. He got back up, but started wobbling side to side again.

My mind immediately went to thinking he ate something he shouldn't have and is very sick.

It turned out he just got one of his claws stuck in the carpet and didn't know how to unstick it.

Our security team likes to send out fake phishing emails to test the employees. The weird and unfortunate side effect of this is that now I'm actually opening sketchy looking garbage I would never have touched with a ten foot pole because I suspect I'm being tested by the security team. I don't think that was what they had in mind when they hatched this plan.

I opened a clearly phish email that wanted username and password in order to see the composition of the attack. I used the username Goeff and password Uself. The CISO demanded I take remedial security training as “…I fell victim to the attack…”. I insisted that I did not. I now report all email from him as phishing. He and I are not the same.
