Just so everyone understands my position here: I own multiple AR-15s, and have thousands of rounds of ammo in my safes. I also have spent the last decade pondering how we, here in the US, can make it so I never have to see the editor’s comment “the screams of children have been removed” from a news video, ever again. I would love to effect a culture change to stop mass shootings here. I also don’t foresee that happening. What we can change is access to weapons designed to be easy to use this way
in reply to McNadoMD

The problem with access restriction is that you will never get to 0 access, and access is always gate-kept by 'background checks' and MONEY, and many of the people who have carried out mass shootings went through background checks and had the money to get the guns to do the crimes.

This is my point about Australia's laws. They have some of the most stringent gun laws, and yes 35 to 5000, I get it, but shootings are on the rise there because there is still access.

Humans will always find access to dangerous tools.

What NEEDS to be changed most, is the culture of abuse that drives the root causes of violence in the first place. That's the only real, long-term solution. Anything less is a bandaid at best, if not an outright time-wasting red herring in the service of more authoritarian abuse.

‼️ Zelensky: Putin publicly lied, claiming that Russian forces had already taken Kupiansk. So I went to Kupiansk to show the world that Putin is lying.

Let’s look at Russia’s history since 1991. From then until today, Russia has changed: it has been poor and rich, and it has gone from oligarchy to dictatorship.

But one thing has remained the same — it keeps bringing war and hatred. From Chechnya to the Balkans, from Moldova to Syria, from countries in Central Africa to Ukraine.
