Things have changed in my life recently, so I need an updated #introduction post!

This is my account where I can be a bit anonymous and talk about parts of my life that I can't do elsewhere, mainly in regards to #MentalHealth and #LGBTQ+.

I recently came out as #bisexual to my wife, the only person I've ever told. I have a bit of a plan on how to come out to the world though (or at least my closest friends). Soon, maybe...

I do #nerdy stuff (points at dalek: "Oh look, it's R2D2. I loved him in Star Trek!").

I love to build stuff from scratch; doesn't matter if it's a piece of furniture, an RGB music reactive lighting setup or a pacman from a cereal box and hot glue.

Pixelfed's DMs are switched off for most people by default.

If you have a Pixelfed account and want to receive DMs from anyone, you have to switch on the option:

1. Go to Account Settings
2. Go to Privacy
3. Tick the box marked "Receive Direct Messages from Anyone"
4. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the screen

After you've done this, anyone will be able to DM you on Pixelfed.

I start the day early most days. Any time i take BART at 7 instead of 6 however there are a bunch of fucking cops harassing the poor. Like today.

BART is in a financial crunch because of this shit just as are most municipalities.

BART relies on fares instead of tax dollars and the bougie idiots that we elected to the BART board thought fare evasion was the problem to solve when ridership declined during COVID. So they have been trying to harden the system, wasting millions on this, instead of maintenance and improvements. It has made no difference other than encouraging cops to be assholes and a bunch of new fare gates that are less functional than what we had before.

The solution is to switch to tax dollars and cut policing. Move toward free ridership and eliminate all of the costs of gates and policing fare evasion.

Otherwise we are just paying for abuse of the poor and watching shit fall apart around us as we defer investment in our public infrastructure and services.
