"I picked up hitchikers (none of them were serial killers, most of them were very nice, and only a couple were weird and broken, BUT IT WAS CLEAR THAT THEY NEEDED PROTECTION FROM THE WORLD RATHER THAN THE OTHER WAY AROUND)."

There’s been a lot going on with me lately, and it’s not good news. And I don’t want to burden people with more bad news when there is already so much bad news in the world. I’m sorry that sounds vague and ominous, but I just don’t have the energy right now to formulate my thoughts.

The kitties are doing fine, and I’m trying not to stress out. Mayor Doots loves you.

Happy Dootsday!

These are the vindictive, lawless actions of a police state. Labour has branded Palestine Action and its supporters “terrorists” to justify swallowing innocent people into the prison system and subjecting them to cruel and unusual punishment.

agreed. I didn't like that I was using that sort of framework to make this point (because corporations are not people; betrayal is impossible. The people behind the corporation, however, can betray. But even here, there's no betrayal: the people who own Microsoft never give a single iota of a fuck about the 'personal computer' and they never will. They just want money and control, and that was a wedge they could use against IBM).
in reply to Asta [AMP]

yes, absolutely. there are companies from the early microcomputing days where it would at least make sense to say that the company is betraying its founders' principles, but Microsoft isn't one of them

.... though, mind, we struggle to think of a company from those days whose founders are still involved with running it, so, it would be a stretch

Alright, time to move away from Firefox.

Anyone have recommendations of stuff they've been using for a while that has good options for Android cross compatibility? Ideally the browser is on both, but using a 3rd party to sync some stuff is fine by me.

in reply to Marc

I migrated to Vivaldi about 3 weeks ago and I'm hooked. Even using it as my main feed reader and mail client! It definitely has a lot of flexibility and appeal for power users.

The ONLY downside for me is you can't sync your email accounts across device installations. On the plus side, it does support Proton mail.

Been a joy to use overall.

thanks, giving it a go now. Bit sad it's yet another Chromium browser though :(
