John and Joan respected each other, but they were never very close. When John used all manner of subterfuge to get the title of Chief Keeper of the Toots, I expressed my disappointment to Joan. She was relaxed about it.
Let John have the attention he so obviously craves, Roamer. He's good at writing speeches, and this way he won't meddle. In the meantime, we keep slaying the scrapers and planting the hashtags. John will write about it, and he will do so better than I could.

It really is the Enshittification of GitHub as @pluralistic laid it out in his book:
1. GitHub built a great product (GitHub Actions), attracting users of all kinds
2. It gave large parts of the product away for free on public repos which creates adoption because now, all open-source projects use it
3. Because it is a great product, the industry standardized CI around GitHub Actions: The format, the runner, everything.
