Also, according to grasshoppers, grasshoppers have two sets of wings.

I pointed out that the creator is Arthur from The Vich Fam on Facebook. He developed an AI that generates Elon Musk in sign language. Arthur, that's really shameful! This website, www.deafgpt.app, ought to be shut down! #technology #ai

Last Chance Qualifier w Tekken World Tour wygrał The Jon z Pakistanu.

There are wolves inside of you, wild & free.
There's also a grumpy bear who just wants to sleep, a disdainful owl who's had enough nonsense, and a sad little hedgehog who often feels the weight of the world.

Some impressive snow reports of 12-15 inches from Charlotte to Winston-Salem, NC!

Shylo: "Ah, yes... come in and sit down. Now, I understand that you had this Caturday Saturday off, and yet you failed to provide me with infinite treats. This will not do. Consider yourself on report. Now get my treats."

The Recording Academy banned fully AI-generated music from Grammy consideration, but the line between acceptable AI tools and problematic AI creation is blurry. Using AI to organize files is fine. Using it to generate a song's hook is not. Or is it? theconversation.com/grammys-ai…

Retrofit another garden bed. Added 6 inches of bed, will need to add more organic material. Covered, to prevent rat and squirrel munching. Short, so can't handle tall plants. Also not ideal for pollination, the grid is a bit large for bees and impossible for moths. #gardening

Heyyyy... I never thought about growing my own worms for them! I do worry about taking on responsibility for yet another life form, though.

Black soldier fly larvae basically eat all compost a red worm won't, like meat and cheese and oils. And they don't spread disease. It's great.

@violetmadder @arisummerland They come and go here, as they wish, lol. Flies! So, don't have to take care of them. I need more, so I can compost meat/cheese/oils lol. When the flies are around I'll throw them in their bins, but it's only part of the year..

@arisummerland

Yeah their natural range is huge! Which is also great!! When I first learned about them I was in a state of shock, they're so perfect.

Put together layers of cardboard in little strips/blocks that hang above your compost, with the crevices along the edges exposed. The adults love to lay their eggs there. They don't want to crawl around down in the compost itself, but lay safely above it. Just leave a gap in the lid big enough for them to get in.

My only issue has been queen ants getting in..

in reply to Violet Madder

@violetmadder oh wow I can create a little area above my compost pile to attract them? The chickens would love that! Right now the going rate for 5 pounds of dried soldier fly larvae is something like $25.

@violetmadder fascinating. I do end up with a fly problem, regular house flies, in the chicken yard in the summer. I've had two birds that have come down with flystrike (don't look it up -- it is absolutely disgusting) and perished.

maybe I'll start a new little compost area in their run, priming it with some of my active compost... lots to think about. Thank you!

Indeed, but if I'm not mistaken LLMs and most other current AI systems are all "model" systems that use similar artificial "neural" networks, and work in much the same way by training on a set of data then using the trained model to try to see if some novel new data has "matches" in the model. I think that's even true for the systems which take text and generate images or video, though I'm not so familiar with how those ones work.

So that said what it means is current "AI" tech is all power hungry, at least at the training stage. I think almost all GPTs, and especially those generating multimedia output, are still power hungry when they run too, especially if they implement so-called "chain-of-thought" feedback loops (never mind that some of the models are so huge that they require a rack of storage to hold them, never mind replication to feed the needs of large numbers of concurrent GPT sessions).

Much of current artifical intelligence application probably should be shut down or turned off.

Here it's identified as a "a technological tool for advancing & scaling up transformative climate solutions for mitigation and adaptation action in developing countries with a focus on least developed countries (LDCs) and small island developing States (SIDS)."
It's worth note that developed nations are most responsible for emissions & planet death but least developed nations are more likely to suffer the effects first & be least likely to have mitigation strategies. Considering AI as a "technological tool" allows for its management and resource expenditure. To my mind an individual with computing expertise & an interest in the phenomena of climate change (a thinker) is a win win considering there still are individuals who are in denial relating to the impact of a warming world. It is possible that the benefits of its use outweigh the cost especially in terms of life (lifestyles) & death.
