When I first adopted Sage, he was so terrified he only came out to eat for several days. He was really terrified. Someone was really mean to him. He does not want me standing behind him; someone stomped or kicked him.

I asked him, now we are friends, why did he think I was a monster?

The heat in Uncle's building went out in the middle of the night (before 5:30am) due to burst pipes, and wasn't back on until after 8:00pm. Remember, he's in NYC, it's pretty f'ing cold there.
His aide called me at around 3:30pm telling me when his apt started to get really cold the aide agency said to call 311 to ask what to do, and 311 transferred them to 911, and 911 called an ambulance.
The ambulance came and the EMTs said nope, you're better off staying here (which I agree with). (1/5)

But during all that—plugging in the space heaters, knocking the power out, getting the power turned back on, moving the space heaters to other circuits, etc.—they took Uncle's computer and his Vonage box offline, and they haven't come back online, so now he has neither a working computer nor a working phone (he has no cell phone).
I tried without success to walk the aide through troubleshooting over (her cell) phone. (4/5)

Tomorrow I'm going to have to figure out how to solve this from a couple hundred miles away, which is probably going to involve enlisting someone more tech-savvy than Uncle or his aide to visit the apartment for five minutes to get everything plugged in and powered on.
