Russian offensive near Pokrovsk slowing down, media reports.
Russian forces have captured considerably less territory in the Pokrovsk direction over the past week than during earlier periods, the independent Russian outlet Agentstvo reported on Sept. 7.

Most of those boats seem to have roller reefing on their genoas. That's a lot of sail. Think I might go there before a second reef in the main, no?
I got a roller reefing kit for my Wayfarer 16 but I haven't yet figured out how I'm going to attach it at the tack. Equipment mismatch. I'm talking to another guy who has done his.
Be nice, though, to adjust on the fly for changing conditions especially since I'm always sailing alone and can't hold it down by myself. I end up doing a lot of luffing which is no fun.

So far, there have been 14 human cases of bird flu this year. All the patients — except the one from Missouri — had been linked to sick dairy cows or poultry.

In Russia's border region, likely Belgorod, local residents caught soldiers looting their home.

Who needs a web browser when you have Terminal?
Someone posted a Hacker News link to a demo of HNTerm, a command line tool that lets you browse that site using the MacOS or Linux Terminal. Here’s the GitHub link.
There are other similar tools, as this comment points out, but it’s a fun reminder that Terminal can do more than things like tweaking how long notifications stick around or adjusting your Mac’s power schedule.
