there is some very cool research going on in a cave in the grand canyon. there are hundreds, maybe thousands of dead bats, all with their soft tissue preserved. some are between 3700 and 31000 years old! there are other samples from the cave that are too old for carbon dating! #bats #science #grandcanyon
