#Ampache 7.0.1 out now!

As smooth as things have been we've found enough things to fix to warrant a new release.

Definitely get onto this one ASAP so you can take advantage of the speed increase on the stats class.

When I saw speed I mean it.

My index page loads in 0.5s compared to 5s a week ago!

@Muse I have the joy of a library in town here, and of a large and extremely well stocked source of free books. If I want to read about permaculture I can explore those places but if I wanted to have a book permanently available I'd need to buy it if it was not available in the free book store.

"You could fit so many billionaires in these bad boys. They got a lotta life ahead of them. The tanks, not the billionaires. Those assholes are going in the ocean.

Submersibles? Oh, I was thinking of a different kind of sub."

An Italian billionaire in a sandwich?

🤣

I almost skipped it because it's so emotionally draining and because the Sask Party (the local awful oil-supporting conservatives) just won again, but I just did my climate change lecture.

Tried to tie it in more to the "homeostatic awakening" idea for solving the Fermi Paradox - civilizations have to use much less energy than we do in order to survive long-term, and then they're undetectable (by our current methods). It's a weird kind of hope, but it's something.

Expanding the Supreme Court is legal, constitutional, and has happened before. Next time (if ever) Democrats are in a position to do it, they must stop the Court's attacks on democracy and expand the Supreme Court. It's much less "extreme" than allowing conservatives on the SC to destroy democracy.

Jeff Bezos has made CHOICES

He chose to buy the @washingtonpost

He chose, despite his conflicts, to intervene in the paper's editorial decisions and spike an endorsement of Harris

Bezos claims people who care about journalism have no choice but to accept his decisions — and trust his benevolent leadership

He's wrong

The Post employs tremendous journalists

But it is also possible to produce meaningful work without being under the thumb of a conflicted billionaire.

#PPOD: The first galaxy pictured here is NGC 4565, which, for obvious reasons, is also called the Needle Galaxy. First spotted in 1785 by Uranus' discoverer, Sir William Herschel (1738-1822), this is one of the most famous examples of an edge-on spiral galaxy. It is located some 30 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices (Berenice's Hair). It displays a bright yellowish central bulge that juts out above the most impressive dust lanes.
