β€œMore than 100 BBC employees are accusing the corporation of providing favourable coverage toward Israel and are calling on the broadcaster to β€˜recommit to fairness, accuracy, and impartiality’ over its reporting on Gaza.

β€œIn a letter sent to Tim Davie, signed by more than 230 members of the media industry, including 101 anonymous BBC staff, the corporation is criticised for failing its own editorial standards by lacking β€˜consistently fair and accurate evidence-based journalism in its coverage of Gaza’”.

I’m trying to write a #ShortStory each month on my webpage. Here is the one I wrote for November, β€œA Possibility?” which asks what happens if Trump flees the country?

Melon Husk thinks he can buy the US Presidency the same way he bought Titter;

theguardian.com/us-news/2024/o…

I hope he fails this time. Because if he succeeds, the (further) enshittification of Titter into Xitter is just a taste of what the billionaires and their orange empty vessel have in store for the whole country.

The #Biden Administration once again writes rules that turn monopolies into competitive markets. This time: banks.

Switching costs are real. And now quantified for banking.

Reminder: monopolists and oligarchs pay lip service to β€œcompetition.” That’s why they are suing to stop this final reg.

Does make one wonder how many types of things there is in the world to hold physical content gravitationally in such fashion.

There's lots of talk about what Trump would do if elected president again...and who he wants by his side to help him do it. Today, Jay Kuo takes a look at Trump's would-be second administration wrecking crew, from Elon Musk to RFK Jr. to Tulsi Gabbard, and dives into just how much havoc they could wreak on the government if given the chance. thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p…

Bei The Needles (dt. Die Nadeln) handelt es sich um drei Felseninseln aus Kreide. Sie befinden sich vor der Isle of Wight (Großbritannien). Der typische Platzregen sowie ein krÀftiger Regenbogen machen das Bild der Felseninseln besonders.

In 2004 I was diagnosed with CML and told I had 5 yrs to live. I had also just applied for a new position where I work. During the interview, one of the managers asked, "Where do you see yourself in 5 yrs... if you're still alive?" I don't remember the rest of the interview. But I got the job.

Wow, that photo of all the cars on the (train?) line or road or whatever... that is completely wild.

Whoa. Those poor people.

β€œIt’s caused by a weather phenomenon called DANA - β€˜depresion aislada en niveles altos’ in Spanish - which translates as β€˜isolated low-pressure system at high levels’.

…climate change is making heavy rain worse, and therefore more dangerous. That’s because hotter air is able to hold more moisture. So when it rains, it unleashes more water.”

@markwyner I believe this is similar/the same as what we call a "bomb cyclone" here, based just on the descriptions I have read.

Every now and then I have to show off my "Smart Watch" that tells me the time and date, never needs a battery replaced, never needs an update (well, except for DLS) and NEVER interrupts my life in any way.

With just days until this historic election, what might a Harris victory bring? You're not the only one asking that question.

if she wins but doesn't have the Senate which is likely she will have a difficult time getting any legislation passed. She will also have to cut deals w/Rs to appoint lower court justices. Forget about a SCOTUS pick.

Trump is sensing his campaign is slipping, so he’s going full election conspiracy fraudster on us. This was wholly expected. Read my piece debunking them: open.substack.com/pub/statusku…
