Not a cure but at least I can move.
My husband isn't feeling very well so we woke up well before sunrise to start our day.
The sunrise was unbelievable.
Summer and I stood outside and stayed in the wind just to soak up the intense color.
What a treat.
Good morning, Mastodon.
#Sunrise
We decided to get some hanging out on the deck time.
The sky is amazing. The brilliant blue is quite a contrast to all the gray skies at the beach this morning.
The storm is coming but we are loving the view.

This always happens on the weekend.
I feel bad for him.
Now, I have to figure out how to wrangle some antibiotics.
Summer says we got this.
I hope so.

@benroyce has posted a quite interesting recap of what's happened regarding #Russia over the past 3 years. Starting with the invasion of #Ukraine, the uprising in #Georgia, the fall of Russian control of #Syria, #Armenia's turn to Europe, and Donald Trump's recent and apparent decision to continue US support for Ukraine.
It appears… Putin is going to find himself in history's poo-tin.
It's a modern day religion .... the same system we've always had for thousands of years
A belief system where we all collectively believe that some people have more power than everyone else. A religion where we are made to believe that we walk among gods or god like men and women made possible by a divine being.
Instead of offering daily goat sacrifices ... we offer payment for subscription fees or buy something online.

In February 2022, #VDV forces landed at #Hostomel airport to pave the way for #Russia's quick decapitation of #Kyiv.
Apparently some of the #Russian #Paratroopers made restaurant reservations in Kyiv (as their joke), such was their certainty.
And, nobody thought #Russia would be this stupid, but if they did it, the world also thought #Ukraine would rapidly crumble.
How could they not? Russia was a major power and Ukraine was poor and puny.

in reply to Ben Royce 🇺🇦 • • •Instead the world got a remarkable demonstration of a people grimly united in dread purpose: not only the preservation of their country, but their lives, such is #Russia's #genocidal #mafia ways.
They rose to the occasion in virtually cinematic terms.
#Zelensky, a #television #comedian, became a #heroic #statesman. The #Ukrainian people used their grit, resolve, and spirit to jerry rig a #resistance that made "mighty" Russia look like a joke. The "great statesman" #Putin became the comedian.

#Georgia is boiling over with #protest and stubborn #political #resistance to the #corruption of their country by #Russia.
Another #Euromaidan brewing, Mr. #Putin?

in reply to Ben Royce 🇺🇦 • • •The #Russian #economy is in trouble. The #Ruble drops, #interestrates are sky high, #inflation: you can't kill or maim hundreds of thousands of your men on folly while directing a huge part of your economy to #shells and #tanks and put that on the national credit card, without serious long term ramifications.
Even if you take all of #Ukraine tomorrow. You're looking at years or even decades of pain.

in reply to Ben Royce 🇺🇦 • • •And now, what #Putin was banking on: #Trump abandoning #Ukraine, *might not happen*.
😲
Throughout history we see #fascists backstab each other. And you're looking so weak, dear #Putin, even the orange clown is giving you second thoughts.

in reply to Ben Royce 🇺🇦 • • •Oh dear, dear Mr. #Putin. During #COVID, when it is said you sat in dusty #Russian #historical #map rooms, sniffing your own farts, high on your own #ego, dreaming of being the next #PeterTheGreat or #IvanTheTerrible, and you thought: "sure, let's go for #Ukraine"...
Did you imagine it would go this bad, botox ghoul?

in reply to Ben Royce 🇺🇦 • • •You're doomed #Putin.
It's only apocryphal, but apparently, the gruesome gory video of #Gaddafi's end, it is said Putin watched it over and over again.
Because you saw your fate.
And now it is getting much closer.
Due to *your* efforts.
#SelfFulfillingProphecy.

The #Oligarchs getting together and offing you since they realize the obvious you see as well?
Or will #GorkyPark become the next #Maidan Square?

who?
no more oligarchs in russia?
what?
Lien Rag
in reply to Ben Royce 🇺🇦 • • •Anna Colin Lebedev, an Ukrainian-born sociologist professor in Nanterre.
Oligarchs doesn't mean "people with a lot of money because they're close to the power".
It means "people who collectively hold the power because of their immense wealth".
Russia had those under Yeltsin and the first Putin years, but not anymore as Putin made them come to heel in exchange of them keeping their wealth.
Ben Royce 🇺🇦
in reply to Lien Rag • • •understood
and what you're saying does make sense:
absolute loyalty or you fall out a window
however, they are still oligarchs, whether or not they are merely now a glass menagerie of oligarchs
that is, assuming they retain any independent decision making capacity, and assuming they can still control a lot of wealth, they can still make independent moves, under the right conditions
i agree with your point. i'm just saying money is still money
Lien Rag
in reply to Ben Royce 🇺🇦 • • •She says (and I agree with her on that point) that this is muddying the analysis by extending the meaning of the word to the point that it loses explanatory ability.
And Camus said "mal nommer les choses, c'est ajouter au malheur du monde".
