Obviously you haven't forgotten it, and neither have I. But just as XMPP is good for some things that email protocols can't do (and @delta Chat are testing the limits of that), Matrix is good for some things that XMPP can't do.
I'm really not interested in debating this again. I've done so over and over.
If a fediverse app could search my public feed for mentions of both protocols, you could find plenty of examples.
