Possible, but less likely than finding a leprechaun's pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The "increased abundance and prosperity" will not be any more evenly distributed than it is now. And that's assuming those "superintelligent" tools remain manageable by their human toolmakers.

Not wanting to start a fight, but just wanted to note that arguments for import tariffs (which the labour left has been making much longer than the isolationist right) are similar to this.

Yes there is impact on us, but it's in pursuit of a structural shift in Incentives and relative economic power.

Just to make it clear, I'm not a poly-sci nerd or into team sports. The reality is that most of the time the people in power are not talking to people like me - they're talking to people who are wealthier and more privileged, the wannabe wealthy, and the poly-sci nerds.

However, while we're complaining about the Democrats, let's talk about messaging - election season 2024: These assholes mailed propaganda with messaging like "you deserve" blah blah blah. Seriously? I deserve? Our nation's federal government has been overthrown by wealthy anti-American seditionists and the Democrat's messaging was feelgood bullshit circa 1988.

People like me and mine go miserable and die for no good reason in political conditions like what we have currently in the United States. I have no reason to care about the national Democratic party. They are, at best, not my enemy.
