ok i gave up with the unix socket and tried to fix communicationg host-guest but came across this which explains that macvtap and ipvtap just don't allow host-guest communication by nature so I'll need to user another interface to communicate with the vm which actually comes in pretty handy for testing dns resolution with pihole for requests on different interfaces
in reply to [MIGRATED]

finally have time for this again

got the interface for host-vm communication up and running with the libvirt nat bridge, i mean i have it at hand why not use it? (this totally wont come back to torment me).

Weird thing is that by using -netdev bridge... qemu doesn't assign an ip to the tap in the host and idk if it is a requirement cuz i did setup the ipvtap interface with an ip on the host and an ip on the vm.
Idk how qemu sets up the tap interface behind scenes, maybe because of iptables shenanigans and the NAT thing

Can someone explain how it works? I guess not having an IP on the host tap interface makes more sense than having one

The Department of Defense (DoD) has broken ground at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) on the #Project #Pele
πŸ‘‰transportable nuclear reactor.

The reactor, under a Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO) initiative, is being manufactured by BWXT Advanced Technologies, LLC, Lynchburg, Virginia.

Assembly of the final reactor is set to begin in February 2025.

The current schedule includes transport of the fully-assembled reactor to INL in 2026, where it would become the first ever Generation IV nuclear reactor to generate electricity in the United States.

"We are thrilled to move beyond the era of PowerPoint advanced reactors," said Dr. Jeff Waksman, Project Pele program manager. "Our tight partnership with INL and the Department of Energy Idaho Operations Office is leading the way forward not just for manufacturing advanced reactors, but also for regulating them in an efficient and safe manner."

DOOM: The Gallery Experience

DOOM: The Gallery Experience was created as an art piece designed to parody the wonderfully pretentious world of gallery openings.

In this experience, you will be able to walk around and appreciate some fine art while sipping some wine and enjoying the complimentary hors d’oeuvres in the beautifully renovated and re-imagined E1M1 of id Software's DOOM (1993).

It's funny how people have shortened the metaphor and completely reversed its meaning.

The original metaphor is that "a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch"

Also, you gotta love how this list continues through not just decades, but so many examples β€” almost like a trend:

Pro-police officials were first recorded as using the metaphor following the beating of Rodney King and it was used following the shootings of Michael Brown, Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, Breonna Taylor, and the murder of George Floyd.
