I listened to Call Me Maybe on audio book and this was a really cute story. This story follows Kal and Vera as Vera struggles to get tech support for her Date-in-the-box website. Kal, is posing as a tech agent. (That's all I'll say, I won't spoil the ending!) I definitely enjoyed it and would recommend for a short novella!

What is your killer setup for a #rpi5-based media server setup? (one where the pi is connected directly to the TV with a friendly GUI player)
For a few years now, I have been running a #rpi 4 setup with #OSMC and #Kodi (I have customised the underlying Debian setup with a few services).
But OSMC does not support #rpi5, and I could also happily do with a slightly less horrendously clunky player than Kodi (if that exists?)…

I guess my main question would be how it fares as a media player (in addition to the rest)? Being on top of Docker makes me worry slightly about its ability to get decent playback performance on a light device like an RPi…
I've dabbled, you basically use it to install applets of your choosing.

I've spent the last couple weeks rebuilding my home network, something I've meant to do since I upgraded to gigabit fiber. I had been using a #Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X and a collection various types of switches. I replaced them with a #Mikrotik hEX S and a TP-Link 24 port PoE managed router. Everything is on properly separated VLANs now too. Now my network finally takes full advantage of of that gigabit line!
I also updated the networking on my #Kubernetes cluster too. I had no idea quite how much work I was setting myself up for when I started this piece. Added VLAN interfaces on each node and set up Multus so my IoT services could properly talk to the IoT devices. Discovery still doesn't work as well as I'd like, but #ESPHome can find new devices and #HomeAssistant can sometimes detect new devices.
I took this opportunity to rework my home DNS set up too. It was a janky mess before, but now it should be more reasonable. The Mikrotik router handles "root" DNS for host names, then I use my Synology NAS's DNS as the DNS server for all of the infra stuff like the Kubernetes nodes. Its also used for External-DNS. Then two AdGuardHome pods run in-cluster. Everything else in the network refers to the AdGuard nodes. AdGuard defers to NAS, and NAS defers to router.

Hur använder ni aggregatet? Kollar ni bara på lokala flödet? Eller följer ni en massa konton och gemenskaper och kollar på "hemflödet" där alla då är samlade?
Jag inser att jag verkligen inte utnyttjar lemmy till fullo!
Och eftersom memes-scenen verkar mycket större här än på mastodon så vore det kul att utforska mer

Jag använder Lemmy främst i appen Voyager och jag brukar läsa och kommentera på Aggregatet, samt läsa under ”Home”, alltså det jag följer. Då läser jag både länkarna och kommentarerna. Det händer att jag kikar in under All (allt som är federerat med Aggregatet) för skojs skull, men inte så ofta.
Jag utnyttjar nog inte Lemmy till fullo heller, men tycker jag lär mig mer hela tiden :) Jag tror att det ska finnas något smidigt sätt att posta samma sak på Lemmy och Mastodon, och liksom hålla diskussionen samlad? Men jag har inte listat ut hur man gör.
