"The cult of goal-setting thrives in this illusion. It converts uncertainty into an illusion of progress. It demands specificity in exchange for comfort. And it replaces self-trust with the performance of future-planning."

Negotiations for the future government. The PSD would also agree with Ilie Bolojan to the executive’s leadership, but only to the extent that there will be a government rotary. . That would mean the change of prime minister after 2 years, so that the PSD does not now settle the unpopular measures – sources byteseu.com/1091428/ #Romania

📷 Photo challenge, day 10: rail.

Of the many wonderful exhibits at the NSW Rail Museum, this little railbus is one of my favourites. Though small, it still gets a Wikipedia entry.

News report from Philadelphia where a criminal is posing as ICE assaulted and robbed a woman.

Good luck visiting this lawless land for a holiday, where anybody with a mask and a tactical vest can abduct you off the street and everyone else is supposed to look the other way.

The problem with researchers trying to test for creativity is that they themselves are not creatives and do not understand it. The problem with artists trying to define creativity is that most just do it without out much reflection on how they and others do it. I regularly roll my eyes at the attempts on both sides to define creativity.

Is AI sparking a cognitive revolution that will lead to mediocrity and conformity?

My considered opinion is that AI will largely be a bubble that bursts. Whether we like how people are using AI or not, we cannot afford the increased use of computer power which will use up water and create more carbon emissions. It is speeding up a process of eliminating jobs, without ensuring people have any kind of social security. It is also disintegrating our social fabrics in many ways.

Why skilled immigration (usually) benefits both countries

Some interesting infos, and some bullshit (supply and demand laws are essentially complete bullshit and any reasoning around these shouldn't be believed without empirical data).

in reply to FragDenStaat
