I'm going to counter-program the war news this morning & share a deep dive into what I'm playing with right now. Travel with me to a time 30 years ago when newsrooms still existed, and the TV networks began dabbling with releasing press kids on CD-ROM. My wife, who worked on a features desk at the time, saved these two gems from the dumpster 30 years ago. Let's take a look!

I run the Debian machine headless. Gnome runs extremely well on this old i7, but I only ssh into this machine. So, I decide to turn off the desktop & just use it as a server.

I was able to quickly mount each CD and make a tarball of their contents. I honestly don't know if this also copied the HFS partitions or not. Does anyone know if this command would give me both the ISO 9600 & HFS partitions?

tar -cvf ~/cd.tar -C /mnt cdrom

I then scp'd the tarball to my M1 iMac to play!

Ironically, the QuickTime .MOV clips on disc 1 of the 1995 New Fall Season CD did not play natively on macOS Sequoia. VLC had not problem, but I converted them to x265 MP4 for easy access. Here is a movie called "opening.mov" converted to MP4.

This article reviews a trio of books that argue entrepreneurs no longer need technical cofounders or even marketing teams thanks to AI chatbots.

You can get an AI to write the code, come up with marketing copy and role play as your customer.

Compelling pitch but where are the success stories?

Behind every successful piece of software is a small team. Sometimes it's embedded in a large organization, but it's always 2-10 people doing most of the coding.

Been that way for about 60 years now. That's the only way anybody's ever managed to produce good software: a team small and skilled enough to cooperate effectively.

And AI impairs the functioning of such teams. It's roughly equivalent to having a maliciously stupid teammate (or worse, manager) forced on you.

Moving into book 11 of Augustine's Confessions now, here's a core concept video that looks at his discussion about what God was doing or thinking before he created heaven and earth. The answer is that it's not really a properly thought-through question

Giving a Drum MIDI Input with Lots of Solenoids

Thanks for the interesting review.
But in the case of Dalí his works aren't in the Public Domain yet.

Good Morning, Afternoon, and Evening Wanderers!
This is my first post here! As the description says, I am an NSFW Bara animator just doing animation things. I tend to mostly go for fan art but have been branching out fleshing out my OCs lore as of late. Hopefully I'm in the right place for this and if not, suggestions are welcome. I am very new to the Fediverse so apologies in advance.

Content I have created are:
Homestuck, GTA6, Streetfighter, Tekken, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, League of Legends, and more!
