Short version: a colourful abstract knitted tree sculpture in Dokk1 Aarhus main library (Denmark). Fuller description: knitted artwork by Sara Pape. A slightly surreal tree about 1.5 metres high, colourfully knitted with stripes. There's a thick trunk and big loops on the ends of the seven branches. It's on a yellow pedestal with the artist's name and a framed 'horticultural plaque', shown closer in the other photo in this toot. As much of the plaque text as there was room for is in the toot, my translation from Danish. Around the sculpture we see armchairs, a notice board, a tv screen, lots of books shelves, tables and chairs, and the sign Bibliotek (library) in white high on the wall.

Librarians are so imaginative, always thinking up ways to make us smile. Just after I'd enjoyed reading the plaque with their clever 'horticultural description' of the wool tree that promotes craft activities, I turned around and laughed when I saw their new display that promotes the Krimi section.

A free-standing display in Dokk1 Aarhus Main Library. The books and shelves are covered in red-and-white crime scene tape and there are two hand-drawn signs, sort of dripping with bloodish redness, that say Spænding (mystery) and Krimi (crime). Around them: reading chairs and couches, bookshelves, a big screen, a noticeboard packed with hundreds of fliers and notices.
