As someone who grew up on the Middle Loch of Pearl Harbor, whose families' homes were strafed by Japanese planes, whose Dad was chased by a Zero while driving his car by Wheeler, whose uncle was a first responder diving into the burning oil filled waters as part of the mobilized Hawai'ian Territorial Guard, nothing energizes a people like an attack on home soil by an enemy nation.
