This should not be happening anywhere, let alone in the U.S. This must stop.

The only thing that’s going to stop him is a national strike. No one is coming to save us. States will soon fold to him like Congress, the Extreme Court and the military already have. They’ll even let him drop nukes. TIME TO SHUT IT DOWN! NOW!!! Otherwise, it will only get worse.

An undated social media post from The New Yorker:
A director of an immigrant rights group said that his organization had received around 4,000 calls regarding disappearances since June 6th. "Some we just don't know where they're at," he said. "We keep getting reports that folks are missing."

On 22 June, the BBC‘s Laura Kuenssberg interviewed suspended Labour MP Zarah Sultana.

The interview highlighted why Labour is reluctant to readmit her, as she didn’t flinch from criticising Israel and its ongoing genocide – something PM Starmer refuses to do as a lackey of US interests.

Sultana also wasn’t afraid to hold the BBC accountable for platforming prominent Israelis who have defended and whitewashed the ongoing genocide.

It's crazy to me that #gnome don't have an e-mail client app in core (apps.gnome.org#core) selection, neither in circle (circle.gnome.org/).

@ebassi Does anyone know how the #GTK4 ports of the #email clients for #Gnome are progressing? This includes #Geary @geary , #Evolution @EvolutionGnome #Balsa #ElementaryMail @elementary Mail, and #Claws mail.

Thanks for pointing to the newer email client projects #Envelope Mail , and #OpenEmail #GTK @theopenemail, which are already on GTK4, but still experimental.

in reply to Monoka

We could definitely use any interested developer who wants to help port to GTK4! At the moment I think the most momentum is happening in finishing our Panel GTK4 port, but as far as I know our upstream blockers with WebKit for example are solved. So I think it just needs someone to jump in :)

Cool to see an uodated #fosstodon coc and team covenant!

I am a bit confused about point 2 from the covenant, though. "Impact before intentions" suggest to moderate posts that have negative impact, even if the poster has (or declares to have) positive intentions, but that seems to conflict with "believing people". Also "when their own actions show us who they are" seems to again encourage judgement based on actions rather than intent.

Maybe the wording of it could be improved?

The British government has carefully refused to publicly reveal whether it supported the US bombing of Iranian nuclear sites on Saturday, and even whether it deems the attack to be lawful.

Now numerous diplomatic sources with knowledge of the matter have told Middle East Eye the UK's private stance is that attacks on nuclear facilities are not illegal and should not be banned by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

I always thought that a wealth tax made more sense than income tax. Some people will be needing all their income just to live. Others may be doing really great things with their extra income. Excess wealth just sits there.

But I am wondering, what thresholds and what rates might be appropriate? Are we talking billionaires or mere millionaires. Bearing in mind that the average house is now over 1 million in many places.

Im thinking a total combined net worth of say 10 million?? Make it progressive so that it taxes billionaires more than the Tenmillionaires.
