Great little video by John Oliver about AI. One thing he did not get, however, is that also the comments are likely AI generated...

Now you can have a discussion about the usefulness of AI for all kinds of stuff, but to me is is disgusting that Meta is deciding to feed their users this stuff. When it comes to social media, I would think that most people are interested in what their friends have to say or what people they follow have to say. AI generated content is not that.

Nicholas Whyte: How Christopher Priest wrote for Doctor Who, and what happened next

"It’s not all that interesting. I disliked the Dr Who programme from the outset, and still do. Towards the end of the 1970s I was approached by Douglas Adams, who was trying to talk “real” sf writers into writing for the series. I said, “Thanks, but no thanks”, but we enjoyed talking to each other so I went in and met him for a boozy lunch."

The image depicts a simple bedroom scene with a wooden bed as the central focus. The bed has a brown wooden frame with a headboard and footboard, and it is neatly made with a light blue bedspread and white pillows. There are two larger pillows and two smaller ones, arranged against the headboard. The bed is positioned against a light-colored wall, with a window on the right side allowing natural light to enter the room. The floor is a light beige color, and there is a black arrow pointing to the left side of the bed, indicating a direction or action. The overall color scheme is neutral, with the brown of the bed frame contrasting with the light blue and white bedding.

Any ideas on how to take motor off this plastic fan blade?
Can’t find any screws or pins holding it on. I’ve tried just yanking really hard, and wedging stuff between the two—nothin, didn’t budge at all. Sure feels like one of those one-way friction-fit sorta things. Lmk any tricks.

So our $18 10yo box fan blew up recently. Starter cap thing on it gave out magic smoke, in-plug fuse also popped.
Taking it all apart “for fun” (to find root cause, and rescue any remaining parts “worth” “saving”).

I had a little think while cooking:
- heat, warm the plastic with a hairdryer and check if it wiggles lose
- Maybe you need to split the motor. To find the propeller fastened from inside the casing

@amro the only screws I could find on the motor are all coming in from the fan side (which is in the way, so I can't get to them). I do see the shaft goes all the way through the motor too (I can see the center of the shaft spin) but don't see any cir-clips that are accessible either).

Second suggestion on heat. I'll need to try that.
