There's this acceptance on the left of violent chants that are terrible as being "rhetorical".
But rhetoric like this from the right would be identified immediately as such.
'Jews will not replace us!"- I mean sure, we live alongside you, we won't replace you, so this is okay, right? /s
And yet chants like:
- (Globalize the) "Intifada" (Now) - a reference to a worldwide pogrom of Jews in the early 2000s
- "Kill the IDF"- a chant calling for the murder of all Israeli adults (since all Israeli adults serve in the IDF)
- "Resistance By Any Means Necessary"- a call for violence
- "From the River to the Sea" - A call for genocide of Israelis
Are considered socially acceptable, even encouraged amongst people who otherwise espouse good, and even otherwise non-violent values.
It's very upsetting, especially as we've seen this rhetoric turn into actual violence against Jews, both physical violence, as well as discrimination.
Thankfully my OM-1 II and 12-40mm f2.8 PRO II lens are more weather-sealed than I am.
