👨‍💻 New post! I wrote up my experience daily driving Chimera Linux during a recent two-week trip to Central Queensland. I needed to work as usual on the weekdays, so I had to set up my work environment including: #Mercury, #Rust, and #Zed.

I did like your story. I was a bit curious if it would be possible to run Lomiri as a desktop environment on Chimera.
in reply to OS-SCI

@os_sci thanks for reading! If some software is open-source, and works on other Linux distros it will usually work on Chimera too—although some things may need to be patched or tweaked slightly.
in reply to OS-SCI

@os_sci does that pose a problem? Chimera had Wayland support before it had an X11 port.

I really don't like this guy, but as a 30+ year Linux user and advocate, I like the post...sort of.

"And it's definitely true that Linux is still a niche operating system on the desktop. Even among developers."

I don't think it's a "niche" operating system among developers. On the desktop with everyday, average users? Maybe. But not with developers.

don't know the guy, maybe because i am in foss heaven. But in all honesty when people in the mainstream, outside of our bubble start talking about Linux then something is happening.

Did You Know: The "Bladesongs of Boethra" suggests that Boethiah was responsible for stopping the Marukhati Selective from achieving monothought of The Exclusionary Mandates when they danced upon the Tower during the Middle Dawn, ending their attempt at Sacred Expungement of the "Aldmeri Taint"?

The image features a detailed statue of a fantasy character standing on a pedestal. The character is depicted with pointed ears, a muscular build, and is adorned in elaborate armor with intricate designs, including a belt with a circular emblem and a flowing cape. The character's right hand is raised, holding an object that resembles a weapon or tool, while the left hand is at the side. The statue is accompanied by a creature resembling a lion, positioned to the right, with its head turned towards the character.

The statue is set against a backdrop of a lush, mountainous landscape with greenery and ancient-looking structures, suggesting a fantasy setting. The ground beneath the statue is a stone platform with a patterned design, and the overall scene is rendered in a realistic style, indicating it might be from a video game or a digital artwork.

The top word is English followed by how it is written in the Cherokee language followed by how it is spelled in English then how to pronounce it phonetically.

Ever since, the Cherokee have called the place Dayulsunyi (Dahyoolsoonyee) "where they cried". Then the Nunnehi Chief of the Immortal spirits told them they had deserved their punishment for attacking the tribes and told them to go back and take the message of their defeat and to never return.
