Is it algae making the water red?

I'm hoping the sandstone has lots of haematite rather than cinnabar. I think that is mostly true near Devon as it is in Greenland.

The sediments are red in colour, due to the presence of the iron mineral haematite. The red rocks of the Devonian are known as the ‘Old Red Sandstone’ and also outcrop in the Brecon Beacons of Wales, the Orkney Islands, as well as Svalbard and parts of the USA.
