in reply to Michael Salbeck

in reply to levampyre

Today in Labor History July 21, 1936: Anarchists created the Central Committee of Antifascist Militias of Catalonia, establishing an anarcho-syndicalist economy in Catalonia, after the defeat of a nationalist coup in Barcelona, led by Francisco Franco and other fascists. The anarchist militias of the CNT and FAI now firmly controlled the city, with over 30,000 troops, led by Buenaventura Durruti, and were able to take over control of the regional government in Catalonia from the other Republican factions.

"Nid jiid, nid kun."
"No moon, no moonlight."

--A dragon saying. Interpreted to mean: "Ensure that your resources are secure. That you know where they come from and that you do not take them for granted."

in reply to UESP

The image depicts a large, dark dragon with outstretched wings, set against a backdrop of a full moon and a cloudy night sky. The dragon's scales are a deep, dark color, possibly black or dark blue, with a slight sheen that suggests a metallic texture. Its wings are large and bat-like, with visible veins and a translucent quality, especially towards the edges. The dragon's head is elongated with a pronounced snout, and its mouth is open, revealing sharp teeth. The creature's eyes are not visible, but its gaze is directed upwards, towards the moon. The moon is large and pale, with visible craters, and it dominates the background, casting a soft light on the scene. The sky is a mix of dark gray and black, with scattered stars and a misty atmosphere, enhancing the mystical and otherworldly feel of the image.

@GrapheneOS this is a very well balanced article about the differences of different versions of Android operating systems. It shows very well where GrapheneOS shines and also, what exactly other OS's maby lack. But it gives a lot of nuance and opportunity for any user to decide for him or herself, if a threatlevel applies to them. Probably less than one percent of our population is fearing the threat of someone stealing their phone and hacking it physically (as many people use no pin or a very weak one).

in reply to GrapheneOS

I have to clarify one thing. I am attacking your personal actions. I am attacking no team, all my focus of criticism is towards your actions as an individual. Stop falsly claiming "against us". I also am not claiming you not providing any good information. I am only criticising that you consistently fail at understanding offers and that not everyone is requesting the best possible privacy and security. And I will not stop critizising this, since as long as you post as if you would be the face of the project, you desqualify the whole project and this is not fair to all the great developers who work for GrapheneOS.

I am explicitly saying the project is great.

in reply to freemymind 🇨🇭

No, that's simply not true. What you're doing is repeatedly misrepresenting what we've said and done. You're not addressing what we've actually said but rather are misrepresenting it and responding as if we've said something far different than we have.

This is a GrapheneOS project account. It does not belong to or represent an individual.

We are not doing what you claim. Our responses are very detailed, accurate and nuanced.

in reply to GrapheneOS

You do not engage in rational or logical discussions based on facts. What you do is repeatedly misrepresenting what we say and attack us with emotional appeals not based on what has actually been said or done. You have not made any serious attempt to read and understand what we've written.

Products without privacy and security patches for severe, known issues lack the basics of privacy and security. It's not the bare minimum.

in reply to GrapheneOS

Someone who buys a $50 phone from Walmart without any focus on privacy or security should receive 5+ years of basic Android privacy/security patches. They will not receive that, which is unacceptably bad. Basic privacy and security patches are not something advanced. They're not something only important to people who care about privacy and security. They're the absolute bare minimum and receiving them for years should be a given.
in reply to GrapheneOS

Here I go with you very strongly. I am for better privacy and security minimal standards, to legally sell a phone.

But to acchieve this, costum roms are not the correct point to critizise. The correct place is in the political discussion and placing the need at hardware producers.

in reply to freemymind 🇨🇭

GrapheneOS is an operating system. It's not a custom ROM and that term is inaccurate.

It is absolutely our place to criticize highly insecure and non-private products lacking basic privacy/security patches. It's not up to you to decide what we're allowed to post information about and you won't silence us by repeatedly misrepresenting what we've said and attacking us for talking about this. We'll post more about it, not less.

in reply to GrapheneOS

Then I will try it in response to this, since you argue I am not specific enough. But respond specific enough to my points as well:

Reference Note is

> LineageOS misleads users with an inaccurate Android security patch level.

This is a explicit critique at LineageOS as a whole:
lineageos.org/ claims to be costumizable, enhance existing privacy touchpoints and provide monthly security updates, longevity, power to you with the biggest variety of devices.

So your claim is not maby false, but just delivers no true information at all.

in reply to freemymind 🇨🇭

LineageOS incorrectly sets the Android security patch level across the devices they support. They claim to provide a higher Android security patch level than they do. They raise the patch level after incorporating Android Security Bulletin backports from AOSP despite the bulletins clearly having driver and firmware patches listed which they aren't providing. This misleads users about what's provided to downplay the insecurity.
in reply to GrapheneOS

LineageOS has per-device builds and is completely capable of setting an honest Android security patch level instead of what they do. They aren't making builds used across many devices. Even if they were, it would still be possible to set the Android security patch level accurately.

Android security patch level does not only refer to Android Open Source Project patches.

What we said is 100% accurate, true and useful info.

in reply to freemymind 🇨🇭

> Devices without basic privacy and security patches do not provide users with the bare minimum for privacy.

Lineage is a big lifetimeextension for houndreds of devices. No other ROM or OS supports them besides LineageOS.

So writing, that installing LineageOS is below the bare minimum. This is your standard. But for everyone who has an old device without new updates, will be far better off using LineageOS than Stock OS.

And it strips off the OS from many bloat. When you fail to acknowledge that this is a privacy and security improvement, I have to reguard you as incompetent.

in reply to freemymind 🇨🇭

LineageOS is not a lifetime extension for devices. They do drop support for devices and provide no commitment about how long they'll support devices.

These are operating systems, not ROMs. It isn't a correct term and is just confusing.

The topic is not people unable to afford a secure device reducing harm for their insecure, end-of-life device. The topic involves selling people insecure, end-of-life devices. They're buying it.

in reply to GrapheneOS

LineageOS, like GrapheneOS, is a fork of the Android Open Source Project. It's not stripping down the stock OS on the device but rather is a different OS.

LineageOS fails to keep the standard Android privacy/security features and model intact. They add a lot of relevant attack surface and problematic changes to AOSP. It does not preserve AOSP security. People often have the misconception that it's only verified boot they remove.

in reply to GrapheneOS

LineageOS doesn't keep up with standard Android privacy/security updates or the driver/firmware updates across devices. For example, on Pixels, LineageOS has not provided the June 2025 driver/firmware updates including a Critical severity firmware vulnerability that's remotely exploitable via cellular. They'll continue not providing those updates on Pixels until they move to Android 16, which could take them half a year or more.
in reply to GrapheneOS

The stock OS very often has important privacy/security patches unavailable in LineageOS. The stock OS also usually has the basic Android security model and features intact. Therefore, LineageOS is not the strict upgrade you portray it as. It's dramatically less secure than the stock Pixel OS. It's often significantly less secure than the stock OS on other devices too. If it's EOL, privacy and security are atrocious either way.

> Aside from that, it's absolutely not "Zero Google" in any sense.

When you say "not any" and meen "not all" this is false information. Assuming you meant to say "not all" it would be true.

in reply to freemymind 🇨🇭

"Zero Google" is an absolute statement which is clearly and objectively untrue. It uses a huge amount of Google code at a software level. It connects to multiple Google services. It has privileged integration for Google apps and services. It has Google code at a hardware/firmware level too. It's a certified Google Mobile Services device.

You're desperately misrepresenting our statements and lying about us as you typically do.

in reply to GrapheneOS

> This is a GrapheneOS project account. It does not belong to or represent an individual.

Can you proof this, by notes of verified project contributors? Otherwise, there can not be any difference from whatever false claim and this one.

in reply to freemymind 🇨🇭

This is objectively the official GrapheneOS project account representing the project. It objectively represents the project, not an individual. It's documented as our official project account on our site and elsewhere. GrapheneOS has a non-profit organization handling paying the project members and the rest of our team. The non-profit has public info including that it has 3 directors. There are 10 paid developers.
in reply to GrapheneOS

What you're doing is making a false and unsubstantiated claim based around other people's dishonest attacks on the GrapheneOS project. It's a classic attempt at misrepresenting it being one person's hobby project, which it very clearly isn't. You don't have facts or substance for your arguments but rather outright lies and unsubstantiated claims. All you achieve is causing us to post more accurate information debunking misinfo.
in reply to GrapheneOS

> It's a classic attempt at misrepresenting it being one person's hobby project, which it very clearly isn't.

False claim. You will not be able to refer a comment, which supports this attack of yours.

> You don't have facts or substance for your arguments but rather outright lies and unsubstantiated claims.

I am literally quoting you. More precise is not possible.

in reply to freemymind 🇨🇭

> False claim. You will not be able to refer a comment, which supports this attack of yours.

No, it is you who is once again making a false claim. You're repeatedly lied throughout this thread along with making baseless and unsubstantiated claims. You're once again doing it.

> I am literally quoting you. More precise is not possible.

You're repeatedly lying about what we've said exactly as you're doing right here.

in reply to GrapheneOS

Thanks for the clarification.
Maby the refered Post could be an upgrade to the project account?

Otherwise the weakest admin of this account will set always the baseline of how much trust can be given to this account.

in reply to freemymind 🇨🇭

The information posted by our account in this thread is accurate and verifiable. You've repeatedly lied about what we've said, misrepresented it and engaged in blatant manipulative in an attempt to attack GrapheneOS and our team. Your behavior towards GrapheneOS is malicious, dishonest and immoral. You should simply stop contacting us. It is clear your goal is attacking the project through ridiculous spin and contortions.
in reply to GrapheneOS

The more you do it, the more we'll post information about these insecure and non-private options. You won't achieve anything trying to misrepresent and spin what we've said beyond wasting our time. You will do the opposite of stopping people getting informed by what we've posted, because we'll spend more time and effort doing it to counter your misinformation efforts. You will achieve the opposite of what you want if you continue.
in reply to GrapheneOS

The more misinformation people post in response to us, the more we'll perceive a need to educate people about these topics with accurate information countering it.

We're not interested in further discussion with someone repeatedly misrepresenting our statements. If you continue doing it, we'll post a top-level thread on our timeline across X, Bluesky and Mastodon about it instead. Better use of our time than replying to you.

in reply to freemymind 🇨🇭

Maby it could be a solution, when every user of the account puts a sign (can be pseudonym) so readers know which comments are related and which not.

Since otherwise I naturally assume, that every comment of a thred is answered and read by the same person.

in reply to freemymind 🇨🇭

This is a project account and represents GrapheneOS, similarly to the accounts of other organizations whether it's SimpleX, Apple or McDonalds. There's nothing unusual or unexpected about an organization having social media accounts representing them. We were mentioned by our handle in this thread which sent us a notification so we responded here with accurate information. Your attempts at misrepresenting that have failed.

The image shows a sign for a product named "FUKITOL," which is presented as a solution for various problems. The sign is white with a green border and includes a capsule graphic in the top right corner, labeled "FUKITOL 500mg." The text on the sign lists common issues such as depression, problems with the boss, being overworked, family troubles, and the inability to make it to the weekend. It then states "FINALLY A SOLUTION" in large, bold letters, followed by "FUKITOL" in even larger, bold letters. At the bottom, it reads "A CAPSULE A DAY TO MAKE YOUR TROUBLES GO AWAY." The sign is mounted on a blue surface, and the overall design is reminiscent of a humorous or satirical advertisement.

The video features a pigeon standing on a wooden surface of a boat, likely a sailboat, given the visible rigging and the registration number '87141-' on the white hull. The pigeon has a grey body with a purplish-green iridescent neck and red feet, and it is looking directly at the camera. The background shows the boat's white deck and the rigging, with a cloudy sky overhead. The pigeon remains mostly still throughout the video, with slight movements of its head and body. The lighting is natural, suggesting an overcast day. The video captures the pigeon from a close-up angle, emphasizing its features and the texture of the wooden surface.
