Jim Morrison was not a poet. I will not tolerate that nonsense. To call him a poet is an insult to ACTUAL poets. So get out of here with that shit.
He WAS however, a GREAT rock singer, and a great frontman. And the first Doors album (the only album of theirs ON WHOLE that I’ve ever given a shit about), is one of the most electrifying debut albums ever, of any genre.
It came out a whole ten years before I was born, so I can only imagine what it must have been like to experience it in real time, and experience that band live from 67-68.
My favorite “classic rock” album of all time.
