We check whether apps have a valid Play Store source stamp and then disable this code, so we aren't actually removing any protection. We plan to use the same Play Store source stamp check for handling other nonsense such as apps checking whether they're manually installed from the Play Store without this. All of this stuff is clearly illegal anti-competitive behavior and we're confident they'll get fined billions along with it being stopped, but it's very slow.
