There's plenty to be unhappy about these days, but remember this: In just 15 minutes, at least one, and very probably both, of Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa will have lost the race for NYC mayor.
in reply to Matt Blaze

@glyph I don't know anything about Sliwa other than he fought crime when it was bad in NYC. If he came here and promised to clean up the streets I'd vote for him. Except crime is at an all time low.
in reply to Joe Alexander

@joe @glyph Except he mostly faked being attacked. He's not just a vigilante, he's a fraudulent one.
in reply to Matt Blaze

@glyph I don't know anything about him, just know of the Angels. It's just wild to me he gets such a little share compared to Cuomo. But again, I'm far removed from him today, my picture of him is from 1989 I think.
in reply to Joe Alexander

@joe @glyph That's when he was faking stuff. He's a scam artist, multiple times over. He's nice to cats, though.
in reply to Matt Blaze

@glyph This has exhausted how much I want to learn about him, considering he's a loser.
in reply to Matt Blaze

@joe Additionally, it's worth remembering that he *is* a Republican, which means he would actively support the escalation of the illegal abduction, torture, and murders presently being committed by the Trump administration, so his goofy demeanor would stop being funny very quickly.

Investors woke up this morning and decided we’re in an AI bubble after all. Palantir beat expectations and posted upbeat guidance but is down -8% and Nvidia down -4% after Michael Burry disclosed put options with a notional value of about $187 million against Nvidia and $912 million against Palantir.

The market decided if he’s willing to bet $1B+ that we’re in a bubble then he might be onto something.

in reply to Dare Obasanjo

so the question is, how do i play the market to make use of this? at some point one of the circle of investors will realise it's all a con, surely?

Palantir stock plunged 8 percent today. This is a cause for celebration since one of its major investors is Stephen Miller. - Andy Borowitz

Alright, is this thing on?

This is my first post here on Mastodon. I'm Freddy, the guy behind the "Freddy's Cine IT" blog.

I'm moving my work here, reviews, and a lot of other stuff to come, for one simple reason: we need to defund the billionaires. It starts by ditching their data-mining playgrounds and supporting decentralized networks like this one. So, here I am.

To kick things off, I've just posted my review of The Institute. What an intense show. I loved it.

I'll drop the link to the full review in the replies. Let me know what you think. Glad to be here.

It is just insane, how severely #Intel kneecapped i7's for scientific work. The 11th gen i7 offered the AVX512 instruction set which DOUBLED throughput compared to the previous and the NEXT i7 gen. To get the same throughput that this i7 delivers in our RNAseq workflows, one has to pay lots of dollars for a Xeon.

People think it's expensive to host a Loops server.

Loops.video uses about 250 GB of object storage for its 31k users in one year, that's about $5/month.

It's more affordable than you think 😉

wow, never thought of that. I guess a lot of users are watch-only, never uploaded any vids?

Someone wrote the word "prospectuses" in the shared notepad for a meeting I was in.

I immediately spotted the problem, of course, and corrected them in front of everyone, informing them that the proper plural is "prospectopuses".

Care about the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves. Right?
