Je suis extrêmement inquiète pour le Liban (Mais je suis inquiète de nature). Quand je vivais au Liban (de 2015 à 2020), il y a avait toutes les deux semaines des annonces d'une probable prochaine guerre. Il n'y en a pas eu pendant 5 ans. Fallait s'accrocher pour ne pas partir en courant du pays, toutes les deux semaines (pour quelqu'un.e comme moi.). Même si j'aurai peut être dû partir. (Vu comment ça s'est terminé pour moi). Bref. Je vous raconte ma vie.

Last Saturday, over 50,000 people attempted to block the founding convention for the new youth organization of the far-right AfD party on Nov. 29 in Gießen, Germany. Wide-ranging actions, including 19 blockades around the small city, prevented a majority of participants from attending. Probably not.

(a) My work depends on old public domain books which have been scanned and made available over the Internet. Sure, I have downloaded most of these to my hard drive, but pretty much all further research requires the Internet s well.

(a) I live in Germany, and write in English for an international audience. How else am I going to reach this audience without the Internet?

No, since civilization has obviously fallen in such a scenario, I'd stop writing and focus on not getting my head added to one of these skull pyramids. Though it's likely that I would fail.

Toda reacción política al escándalo del Hospital de Torrejón de Ardoz que no sea abolir la Ley 15/1997 sobre habilitación de nuevas formas de gestión del Sistema Nacional de Salud es puro postureo. Esta legislación nacional es la clave para la privatización de la sanidad. Fue aprobada por el PP, PSOE, PNV, Coalición Canaria y CiU
Artículo único. 1. En el ámbito del Sistema Nacional de Salud, garantizando y preservando en todo caso su condición de servicio público, la gestión y administración de los centros, servicios y establecimientos sanitarios de protección de la salud o de atención sanitaria o sociosanitaria podrá llevarse a cabo directamente o indirectamente a través de la constitución de cualesquiera entidades de naturaleza o titularidad pública admitidas en Derecho. En el marco de lo establecido por las leyes, corresponderá al Gobierno, mediante Real Decreto, y a los órganos de gobierno de las Comunidades Autónomas -en los ámbitos de sus respectivas competencias-, determinar las formas jurídicas, órganos de dirección y control, régimen de garantías de la prestación, financiación y peculiaridades en materia de personal de las entidades que se creen para la gestión de los centros y servicios mencionados. 2. La prestación y gestión de los servicios sanitarios y sociosanitarios podrá llevarse a cabo, además de con medios propios, mediante acuerdos, convenios o contratos con personas o entidades públicas o privadas, en los términos previstos en la Ley General de Sanidad.
"El decreto que aprobó el Gobierno en junio era la privatización total de la sanidad. La ley que hemos aprobado cierra esta posibilidad", asegura con rotundidad la diputada socialista y ex ministra de Sanidad, Ángeles Amador, para argumentar el apoyo finalmente de su partido.El nuevo texto, que da luz verde a la gestión conforme al derecho privado de los hospitales y servicios sanitarios públicos, ha introducido como garantía legal el que ésta sólo pueda ejercerse mediante entidades de "naturaleza" o "titularidad" pública. Sin embargo, y según algunos, expertos, este primer concepto -introducido en el Senado por CiU- da cobertura a las iniciativas ya implantadas en Cataluña, donde la gestión de centros públicos es compartida con cooperativas de médicos o empresas privadas. El diputado del PP, César Villalón, se felicitó por el amplio apoyo a la ley e insistió en sus ventajas para "conseguir una gestión más ágil y competitiva de la sanidad pública".

lemmy-meter.info just checks the landing page and the API responses for a community, post and comment, and just logs them over time. These are all things, irrc, Piefed's API supports so I don't know why the API needs to be expanded to log server stability? What does Mlem do to show instance stability?

I believe @mrkaplan@piefed.world is working on it. They just completed the upgrade to 1.2 within the past week and are working on the 1.3 upgrade process. They customize the code to some degree and run a FHF branch of PieFed, so it takes a bit of time for them to finish that process and test it.
