millennial fulcrum reshared this.

husband asked a client on a quite complicated project please to stop using AI to write her e-mail replies because it makes it very unclear what she actually wants. she ignored that bit of his mail and replied using AI.

(now i'm wondering whether she's using AI to read mails too and it conveniently left that bit out ...)

He could always add a clause of 100% price increase for AI interactions and see what happens.

“Low fat” is one of the biggest scams ever foisted on people who need to lose weight . Eating fat does not make you fat, eating sugar does, and virtually all ‘low fat’ processed foods have higher sugar content. 😳

The court’s decision would “effectively exclude any independent journalist who publishes using online platforms from relying on the privilege to protect their sources.”

If it stands, “vital information will stay buried,” writes FPF’s Caitlin Vogus.

I'm exploring a concept for a new kind of music app.
Core ideas:
1. No login required to listen.
2. You can export and OWN your listening data (playlists, favorites, etc.).

I break down the concept in my latest video. I'd love to hear from developers and music fans on whether this is viable.

I saw The Apartment tonight at the cinema. I'd seen it before, maybe just on tv, though, and not for decades.

It was - interesting. I mean, great filmmaking. But there were definitely issues. The film wouldn't have got made today. The story is misogynistic, none of the male characters had any redeeming qualities (aside from Jack Lemmon's late reverse).

The only likeable characters were women, but aside from the wonderful Shirley MacLaine, they barely featured.

Very much of its time, I guess

I saw Sunset Boulevard this afternoon.

After the disappointment of The Apartment, I was really impressed by Sunset Boulevard.

It was darkly noire, beautifully filmed and suitably tragic. Really well made. And I loved the script.

Brilliant! I can happily say that once again Billy Wilder really knew how to make films!

Sitting in the cinema, the guy on my right was playing on his phone through the ads and clips.

He switched his phone off the moment the film started.

AND IMMEDIATELY FELL ASLEEP.

Not only feel asleep. He IMMEDIATELY STARTED SNORING!!!

Oh and he smelled, too.

I couldn't help thinking "is that what I smell like to other people?!"
