Pud the black and white cat's favourite winter position but it makes refueling 'interesting' and he doesn't usually move for me.

Thoughts? A company using the commodore name to rebrand Chinese made products vs a passionate guy and team (many of whom worked for #commodore ) who wants to recreate the C64 8 bit era in the same way the #retro #spectrum has happened for us fans of the world's best 8 bit computer. #trolling #zxspectrum

Times change, wills change,

Times change, wills change,
Being changes, confidence changes:
The whole world is composed of change,
Always taking new qualities.

Continually we see new things,
Different in every way from hope:
From evil remain the sorrows in memory,
And from good (if there was any) the longing.

Time covers the ground with a green blanket,
Which was once covered with cold snow,
And in me turns the sweet song into tears.

And apart from this daily change,
Another change causes greater astonishment,
That it no longer changes as it used to.

The autistic experience of getting answers to questions people thought you asked rather than the one you posed, because they cannot separate their own assumptions from your words.
in reply to Jens Finkhäuser

Ah, that can be an issue, too.

You've just reminded me that I had to learn to spot that, and that this is how I came to explicitly confirm "the question behind your question."
I think that came from a lot of wondering why somebody would even ask such a question, then eventually spotting the pattern.

in reply to Kat (post-Hallowe'en edition)

Same. I spent a lot of my childhood time watching people's behaviour patterns in the context of words they spoke. That gave me a lot more clues to what was going on than anything else, and I learned that way what some words *usually* mean.

K1 is sort of unconcerned with that, which is sort of endearing, actually. K2 does much the same, though. They each have their way with kids, though, and have friendships nonetheless.

You should read this.

"... it's worth considering what might happen to us as a species if skills like reading become less prioritised. Our capacity to interpret the world around us and understand the minds of others would surely diminish.
In other words, that cosy moment with a book in your armchair isn't just personal – it's a service to humanity."
