The TTC and Metrolinx need to pick up a phone and actually communicate to each other.

Closing Lakeshore West and telling west-enders to take the TTC is dumb when the subway is closed on Bloor at Ossington. On top of that, there is no subway service to Union Station.

I get that Lakeshore West has to close temporarily due to that 100+ year old bridge but maybe tell the TTC to accommodate the thousands of passengers you're directing into a flustercluck.

^ Christine and I went on a journey downtown this evening. It was certainly a journey.

I got knocked out of Whamageddon 2025 tonight. My wife and I were watching Man vs Baby on Netflix (which we liked) and the original Last Christmas played in the last episode.

I salute your valiant effort. Better to live your life and go down fighting than to shut yourself away during the holidays. Better luck next year.

It was inevitable. But better to be a true Viking and face Whamaggedon face on.

I especially appreciate “Hemmingway Mode” that does not allow you to use the backspace key at all.

A Decade
Amy Lowell

When you came, you were like red wine and honey,

And the taste of you burnt my mouth with its sweetness.

Now you are like morning bread,

Smooth and pleasant.

I hardly taste you at all for I know your savour,

But I am completely nourished.

Thanks to vigorous advocacy by the community, Bicycle Network, and bicycle user groups, the Victorian State Government has dropped their proposal to ban all e-bikes from public transport. Instead, only modified e-bikes will be banned. Great work everyone! this is a common sense outcome that addresses the real-but-small risk of fires, while not removing a really important part of our transport mix.

Price experimentation isn’t anything new in tech. E-commerce websites have been employing for at least a decade. Showing different prices for the same item to different customers has become a normalized practice.

But, in the physical world, the cashier at the mall can’t ask me to pay $7 for the pack of coffee that the customer before me paid $5.

If it is illegal in the physical world, I don’t see how it becomes legal once you wrap an app around it.

Especially when nobody is accountable for the variations in price, not even the managers, as most of those experiments are run by AI. When you take decisions that arbitrarily impact the purchasing power of people you can’t get away with a “computer said so”.

Outlawing price experimentation, both offline and online, is such a nobrainer that I don’t get why the EU hasn’t yet gone after these practices.
