A second shot with a link now.
Robert Kingett’s @WeirdWriter ‘s “The Colonization of Confidence” is a piece that makes me want to write weird and colloquial, ragged and jarring. Human. I still suck at literary English, but I don’t want to suck even more and surrender to Artificial Inferiority.

If Flamingo (and other missiles) can do what they say they can, Moscow should burn every day from now on. It is the people in Moscow (incl. Putin) that dream up the destruction of Ukrainian cities. They need to feel it coming home to roost. Make Moscow burn. While it helps, all the other hits are just an itch, a scratch or a tickle that can be brushed off. Moscow burning will hurt the people who need to feel the pain.

We just had eggs for breakfast, as is tradition.
Today i will see if I can install a flush LED light fitting in the corridor ceiling, without the ceiling falling down.
Either way, it will be messy!
Started working on installing the LED light in the corridor ceiling and it is a no go.
The old ceiling will collapse.
I am going to install a false ceiling to bring the height down to match the ceiling on the stair landing. It will be easier, but I will need to extend the light tunnel down further!
I wish I have known that before I did the light tunnel framing in the loft!
I have installed timbers for half the false ceiling. The other half requires holes to be drilled into the party wall.
I am a decent enough person that I will wait until office hours tomorrow before doing that.
In the meantime we have been out for more timber and some plasterboards.
Somewhere along the way, earlier, I have hurt my back. Lower back muscles are rather unhappy with moving about at the moment.
@LewisWorkshop
Thank you. I think I will be hitting the ibuprofen in a bit.
Yeah, there is also neck ache from looking upwards in a cramped space.

(ok, the last two are debatable, but you get my drift)

Plan 9 isn't like that. We have mostly informal structure, but it's still pretty cohesive. You're either on 9front (the active branch), or 9legacy (the "we liked the original and don't care about new drivers, we just want bug fixes to a system we already considered peak"), or you're on labs ("if it ain't bell labs, it's just sparkling unix").
When I send in a bug fix to acme, I don't bump the acme version, because there _is_ no acme version. I'll send the patch to plan9port, who maintains a version on Unix, but that's basically it. I'll just commit it to 9front (after discussion with 9front developers), and then work with plan9port - and that step is really just that we don't want to break compatibility.
If I run into a bug in something on Plan 9, I can just look at the git/log and say "Oh I'm on commit X".

I mean, Go might be considered harmful altogether, thanks to "[Issue9]". :P
But yeah, it's just not a recognized flag.
And my entire point is that if you're going to have a flag for the version number (which it does have:
go version), it should darn well start with a hyphen.cc: @pixx @khm
