The hunger strike has already reached what some doctors call the point of no return. The very young prisoners waiting for their trial have been on strike for up to 40 days. Some have been in prison for over a year and have trial dates in 2027 for spraying paint on a jet. Why are they even in jail? This feels like punishment in itself. Their charges would be criminal damage, a 6-month offence at best. Although many juries acquit. These protestors are trying to stop a genocide. The government have done nothing to try to find a solution. Lammy says he doesn't know anything about it. One prisoner has spent over half their adult life in prison already.
