The thing about the Amazon TV AI recap thing that baffles me is how little anyone at Amazon seemed to care about the whole project. You would have thought, if someone thought this was a good idea, they'd want to check it works before shipping it. And you'd think they'd check the summaries are legit for, say, their big flagship shows like fallout. But no. They just barfed it out onto the consumer and only took it back when they got told it wasn't working by their users. Entirely avoidable.

A third possibility is that those responsible for the project realised it was ineffective and were against releasing it publicly, but got overruled by management who wanted to deploy it ASAP for beta testing in the wild. If so, one might hope that they learned their lesson, but I somehow doubt it.

@keithwilson I read this as both possibilities happening at different levels. The true believers (careless, thoughtless) were the managers of the non true believers (who didn't give a shit).

Ukrainian President Volodymyr #Zelenskyy stated that #Ukraine is seeking legally binding security guarantees, including an “Article 5-like” commitment from the United States backed by Congress, as a compromise to prevent a renewed russian attack, according to his remarks to the press on December 14.
