I've long since realized this is not going to change. I told her earlier this year I'm not going anymore, at least not for a long time. But she's already working on getting back.

Picking up one of those points, I'm curious to know what top down or bottom up processing feels like in the moment. I have also read Unmasking Autism, and really don't know how I would know what my brain is doing.
Which goes back to one of the challenges I have had with judging my own neurotype. I can't directly access anyone else's phenomenology, so I more or less must interpret whether my experience sounds like a written description.
My impression is, that it's more a tendency, than an absolute binary.
I think we can probably all to some extend engage in both, but there seems to be a "direction", that is easier and more natural, while the other is usually more forced.
I also get the impression, that talking about the topic offends some people, because it can sound, like one is portrayed as inherently better or "superior"(and as if you're implying an argument for eugenics).

I've posted an essay on 'The Road to Artificial General Intelligence'. It's opinion, and it essentially just summarises a lot of things I've posted here anyway, but it puts them into a single coherent piece.

The Road to Artificial General Intelligence?
This essay grows out of a thread I wrote on Mastodon this morning, which in turn grew out of an essay by Tim O'Reilly on the current state of the 'Artificial Intelligence' industry. One sentence from that essay particularly caught my eye:Simon Brooke (The Fool on the Hill)

Ja.

Trump 2.0 has no guardrails. Trump is out of control. He did this as a distraction from the Epstein coverup. What’s next? How can he top this distraction? Attack Iran? Columbia?
I didn’t vote for the felon. I hate his guts. I’ve never hated anyone more.
Americans who didn’t vote for him need to rise up. National strike. Shutdown the oligarchs income.
What a shitty way to start 2026.
My country is so broken.
