One weird thing about the Minneapolis #ICEout protest: there were almost no police.
We marched right down Hennepin Ave, the main north/south street. But the people blocking cars at intersections were wearing neon "UNION" <something> vests... not police. Union organizers were holding the cars back safely.
It's time for Minneapolis Police to serve residents. Not run and hide.

Today's historic photo of the day: Exactly 38 years ago today, as seen through an open door of a moving XPT, a charter #train named the Corowa Federation Flyer, runs through the station at Burrumbuttock, NSW, January 24 1988.
Burrumbuttock is a small town in the Riverina region of NSW. Burrumbuttock railway station was actually about 5km north-west of the town itself, on the Corowa branch line, about 29km from the main line junction at Culcairn and 625km from Sydney.
This day was, as far as I am aware, the only time an XPT was ever to venture onto a pioneer branch line. And although we didn't know it until the return journey, it was also to be the last ever train to run to Corowa.
This scene won't ever be repeated. Not only is the railway now unusable, there is no way to run an XPT or any modern train, even one moving as slowly as we did that day 38 years ago, with doors open for passengers and cameras to hang outside.

Well someone passed the "would I be a good little Nazi or nah?" test.
And everyone still sitting there failed.
They had an independent autopsy. The first gun shot went through her hand the next was also potentially non fatal.
The third shot killed her instantly.
I think all three shots were out of line, but even in the most forgiving to the ICE agent appraisal of the "situation" this is a murder.
