m'est avis qu'ils cherchent à entrer sur le marché des systèmes de navigation #ChatGpt
in reply to Carmine

@carmine oui, et c’est ça qui est inquiétant ;-)

Surtout quand on voit les problèmes qu’ils ont depuis quelques mois :
- des airbags explosifs,
- un système de navigation qui perd la boussole,
- …

thanks for the pointer, and looking forward to see what comes out of the OpenMLS rust developments. We presume however it's not yet easy to use it in decentralized settings where group-membership is not strictly ordered. Or did that restriction change?

"False theories"? No, lies. "Seize on"? No, spread.
And ou don't need "voting rights advocates" to say this, NYTimes -- you can say it. #BrokenTimes

This is pretty tame compared to other recent NYT headlines. At least they included "False" in the headline.

The subheading is textbook both sides, though.

happy 10th birthday, ActivityPub! 🎉🎉

cross-posted from: hexbear.net/post/3384817

link that was attached to original post (1st ever ActivityPub), original post is linked in this post
The obvious choice for ActivityPub’s birthday would be the 23rd of January 2018 - the day it was annointed as a W3C recommendation. That doesn’t seem quite right though - its not as if the spec came into existence in any sense upon that date. In fact, Mastodon implemented it before thne.

There are several possible dates you might pick, but for me it will always be September 5th 2014 - when I committed the first sketch of a specification I called ActivityPump [github.com] and pushed it to Github

It wouldn’t be until November that I actually submitted (a revised and enhanced version of) that draft to the working group, but even then I had the very nucleus of the specification written down.

Happy 10th birthday, ActivityPub. 🍰

in reply to asante [comrade/them]

birthdate counts by the date of the first repository commit to the ActivityPub protocol, btw

A master class here in passive voice & evading responsibility for supposedly agenda-setting media in giving to much attention to Biden's age & too little to Trump's fascism. #BrokenPost
The fear factor is now hurting Trump washingtonpost.com/politics/20…
in reply to Jeff Jarvis

They do erase their responsibility for making those “concerns” central to public discourse, but I don’t see any passive voice (in the grammatical sense) in the sentence highlighted in blue. The underlined “which” clause in the next sentence does contain a passive-voice construction (“was … trusted”), but it seems to me that it would be clumsy to explicitly name its implied subject (the people who participated in the polls).
in reply to Andrew Shields

@AndrewShields
Passive in the sense that "concerns" is the actor in the sentence rather than, unsaid, news media.
