Portland City Council in Maine has voted unanimously to divest from companies doing business with Israel.
The divestment list includes 85 companies, among them major corporations such as Chevron, Volvo and Boeing.
The move follows a previous resolution passed in January, which called for the US government to demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Israel has rejected several ceasefire deals by introducing new conditions.

[poll] hey people who run linux,, have you been running into kernel panics recently? i thought it was just me but i noticed my friends were experienced them too 
some things that might (or might not!) narrow it down: arch linux (or probably any other bleeding edge type distro), tends to happen after suspending (but not immediately, might be a while), big maybe on using Xorg (havent tested tty or wayland), will occur during normal usage or at shutdown

We decided to drop diaspora services at diasp.in earlier and this is a continuation of that trend.
We have been running this for over 12 years.

I should say, though, this time it wasn't a motorbike! I did have a very bad motorbike crash but it was in 1994 and I didn't have a smartphone... Or a mobile phone at all.
