At this point in history, "fact checks" are just vouching for Trump's lies. Fact checkers should step up or step off.

Fact checks in the Trump era operate like “Community Notes” on Twitter.

Sure, you occasionally get a gem, like a faked Trump rally photo or a Republican bragging about an infrastructure program he opposed.

But they’re never on Elon’s tweets. So they’re vouching for every lie he spreads.

Pope Francis on Thursday appealed for Catholics in Indonesia to engage with people from other faiths in a message of religious unity to an open-air stadium mass of nearly 80,000 people.

Ruh-roh. Among those unhappy with the corporate media and their lie-telling in favor of one Donald Trump is the Almighty Deity:

"In their obsession with treating both sides as equally bad, corporate media has once again gone full evil. They scrutinize whatever they can invent about Kamala. They totally ignore Donold’s constant crimes."

Spot on. I’m amazed that the Egypt bribe story just … went away

Also, the complete lack of coverage of Thomas Crooks and why he shot at Trump. I guess it also gets thrown down the memory hole. WTF?!

in reply to Peter Butler

@peterbutler Yes. What's that about, I wonder, the total lack of curiosity on the part of the corporate media re: that story? When Hillary's emails exerted endless fascination for them….

I think the conversation should be about the fact that after years of rising deaths due to mass shootings, they are still happening because state and national leaders keep blocking attempts to take any action at all, with the follow up of , "so when are you going to resign, since this shooting happened on your watch and all your prior actions have been <details of prior non-actions/blocks>.

Could media just stop letting these political leaders brush off the question?
