Israel refused to coordinate the entry of medical teams for polio vaccination east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.
“This area contains a large percentage of the target group of children,” the ministry added.
The ministry appealed to relevant institutions “to urgently intervene to ensure the success of the vaccination campaign by reaching all children wherever they are.”

The Israeli occupation forces arrested a Palestine Red Crescent (PRC) volunteer at the Ein Siniya checkpoint near Ramallah, in the central West Bank, on Wednesday evening.
The director of the Palestinian Prisoners Society in Tubas, Kamal Bani Odeh, confirmed that Muhammad Iyad Hussein Daraghmeh, 22, was taken out of the Red Crescent vehicle in which he was travelling and brutally assaulted. The whole PRC crew was detained.
