Why is Android trying to hide these important buttons?
Mishaal Rahman has found that Android’s quick pulldown menu, where you toggle Wi-Fi or turn on the flashlight, might be harder to get to in a future release of the OS.
A single swipe down will apparently only show you notifications. It takes two fingers for the settings buttons — no other option. We saw something similar in a recent Samsung UI 7 leak.

PSA: If your GitHub Actions just started breaking today, check that you aren't affected by this breaking change in the "upload-artifact" action. It took a lot of digging for me to realize that was the culprit; they decided to ship a change that excluded "hidden" files/dirs (anything starting with a dot, including our .vite asset manifest) as a security measure to avoid leaked credentials. People are pretty pissed about this, because it 100% should've been a 5.x semver release with a change that huge, and it broke a few hundred repos at least.
Anyway, the fix is to include, in your YML for that action, include-hidden-files: true

LUKS on the swap partition ensures non encrypted user data isn't sitting there out in the open when in a saved state in hibernate. Zram remains as is.

in reply to Matt (It's really me) Hartley • • •oooooooo, that‘d be amazing. The power usage while suspended is still a (tiny) gripe I have with the Framework.
Do you have suspend/hibernate and resume timings yet you can share?

Although I was referring to how long it takes for the machine to enter (and resuming from) hibernation in terms of actual time passed (I remember going into and coming out of hibernation taking ages 15-20 years ago)

in reply to Moritz Heiber • • •on Nvme, not too bad. Didn't time it, but booting from the cold boot of a hibernation-enabled state felt pretty standard.
Maybe a little bit longer? I'll time it tomorrow. Nothing that felt long, though.
Things were rough 15-20 years ago in Linux. Boy, do we have it good now. 😊

in reply to benedolt • • •@benedolt I suspected there's an interest here. I'll be testing against Ubuntu ext4 next.
Ideally, I see no reason why an encrypted LUKS swap would be any problem. It's completely separate from any COW oddness seen with COW supporting file systems. It's on the to do list.

At a later date, I'll explore what is doable on existing installs. But ideally, yes, this will be for new installs.

in reply to Kura [☎️KURA / 5872 @39C3] • • •@kura @wook Definitely will provide the step by step manual method for btrfs and ext4.
I have been testing (successfully) with TPM LUKS unlock (no passphrase prompt) and next week, Yubikey (no passphrase prompt) - remove either, LUKS passphrase prompt. This is something that will be part of the hibernate installer experience. Dealer's choice.
You will need secure boot disabled as I am not advocating self-signed kernel nonsense. Those willing may self-sign or whatever. :)

in reply to Matt (It's really me) Hartley • • •@kura @wook Correction. TPM is a stand alone thing for secure boot people. Not used with hibernate. Was multi tasking when I wrote this. Wanted to clarify.
LUKS with yubikey will be for no secure boot and with proper power off hibernate to disk.

Unknown parent • • •swap file is a nope with btrfs on Fedora for hibernate, best to do a clean install and just run the installer I am building. Instructions will also be available for DIY, but it's a lot of work...script is automatic on new installations for Fedora. When I release it. :)
Ubuntu on ext4 is far easier and can play nicely with swap file vs swap partition.
