Today in Labor History September 6, 1901: Anarchist steelworker Leon Czolgosz assassinated President William McKinley, in the name of workers, in Buffalo, New York. However, many leading anarchists had repudiated him prior to the assassination, accusing him of being a spy or provocateur because of his reclusive and erratic behavior. The authorities quickly arrested Czolgosz and executed him 7 weeks later.

Individual acts of violence, such as presidential assassinations, almost always end horribly for the working class (I say almost, but I can't think of an instance when it ended positively for the workers).

Some people complained that using Blaeu to run tests on RIPE Atlas probes was too difficult. I always replied "Read the source code, it is obvious" but, apparently, it was not the expected answer.

Today, I decided to be the nice guy and now you have examples of use: framagit.org/bortzmeyer/blaeu/…

Or direct them to AI for extra fun 🙂 ? Seriously, I think a page full of examples is a GREAT addition, as I observe people often learn/want to learn more by just copy and paste than reading the documentation AND then building the line by themselves.

#SanjushDalmia and @JACoates recommend that #UKRI stop funding #APCs as part of its #OpenAccess policy. Instead, it should require grantees to release their grant-funded research as OA #preprints. This type of policy is sometimes called #Plan_U and variations on the theme have been adopted by the #GatesFoundation and #ChanZuckerbergFoundation.
