I have yet to discover a complete (tested / verified working) guide to obtaining (deb/snap/diy-compile) an #ffmpeg executable, which runs on #Ubuntu #Linux, has been compiled with "--enable-amf", and doesn't throw errors upon execution!

#Copilot says, the amdgpu driver in Ubuntu 24.04 LTS should support #AMD #AMF.

The point is, i finally want to be able to actually use my RDNA3 #AV1 hardware encoder.

…i'm not afraid to compile stuff, but i certainly require training wheels - a proper guide!

AMD Zen 5 Not Affected By Inception/SRSO, mitigations=off Yields No Benefit On Ryzen 9000 Series

One of the security changes with AMD Zen 5 processors that I haven't seen AMD publicly mention at least not prominently is that the new cores are not vulnerable to Speculative Return Stack Overflow (SRSO). Unlike Zen 4 and prior, under Linux I noticed that Zen 5 is no longer affected by the SRSO "INCEPTION" vulnerability. But of course there …

just realizing the joke went over my head 😅 that sounds a lot like our friends over at Duck search.

Maybe an ignorant question, but is it hard to make ones own index?

@luc takes a while yes, we've been patiently doing this for a good amount of time, getting there bit by bit 😃

My rich daddy didn't buy me a fake business degree from Warton while I avoided military service, so I'm looking forward to the Wall Street Journal's economic analysis of how "trillions" of dollars of import tariffs will be paid for by foreign companies WITHOUT raising prices on consumer goods for Americans.

I'm fascinated by the altruism of Chinese companies that will cheerfully absorb the cost, $TRILLIONS, and "get used to it very quickly," and pass that savings onto Americans.

Is this how many Americans see the world? :think_bread:

Cause I have some news :blobcatgiggle:

Yes, for the vast majority of Americans that's all that matters. And don't forget, Trump thinks Hawaii is a foreign country. You remember. The thing with Obama's birth certificate.
