Vast majority of bands heavily underestimate importance of skills to Die when you exhaust your genre or key band members and to remain dead

Now that H5N1—bird flu—has reached dairy herds in California it's time to start paying attention. With regular flu season just around the corner, this could change everything. Here's why, and here's what to do.

i have the best words. No one has better words than me.

Putting them together into cohesive sentences? Not so much.

That is so difficult to read. Like, genuinely difficult to keep track of what is being said. His trains of thought seem to wave in the breeze as freely as his strands of "hair."

Have you used software like Google Docs, Etherpad or Hedgedoc? It's a very direct way to collaborate
– multiple people can type into a document at the same time, and you can see each other's cursors.

Ethersync enables a workflow like that, but for local text files, using your favorite text editors like Neovim or VS Code

A neurologist tried to diagnosis me with FND, and I called them out in an email with several studies about how LongCovid is a complex disease impacting multiple systems, and I mapped my symptoms to the majority.

The neurologist then said, "I know nothing about Long Covid and am referring you back to your general care doctor."

And I was floored. Like, neurological symptoms for Long Covid exist. Is neurologists unwilling to learn and actually help patients?

in reply to The Bird

What alarms me is the neurologist wanted me to do extensive inpatient physical therapy, despite my medical records showing that every other time I did this, I collapsed with worse symptoms (often hospitalized).

Honestly, FND feels like another way for doctors to dismiss patients and further harm us. There's no data backing it up, and it's just so fucked up. So thank you for sharing the article. We need to fight back against that faulty classification.

Handsome boy. That's his chair. He likes to poop all over the seat cushion. I sit on the couch next to him. We have our mornings and evenings on the porch together.

You can order mealworms via mail! And once you do, it's STUPIDLY easy to grow your own. You just dump the ones you buy into a bin of some sort full of oats, and once a week or so put on some sliced carrot or apple or something for them to get moisture from. Once in a while (every few months) you sift out the worm casings and add more oats. And that's it!

You'll have all the mealworms you ever wanted, as long as you want them.

in reply to Ether Diver

Oh, remove the apple/carrot leftovers after a few days so they don't mold. Forgot that. But that's it, it's really that simple. My daughter used to keep a bearded dragon until we moved across country and that's how we kept her full of bugs.

American-Turkish woman shot dead at anti-settler protest in West Bank

An American-Turkish dual national has been shot dead
– reportedly by Israeli troops
– while participating in a protest against settler expansion in the occupied West Bank.

Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, a 26-year-old volunteer with the anti-occupation International Solidarity Movement,
died in hospital on Friday after being shot in the head during a protest in Beita, near Nablus, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.

Witnesses said she was shot at by Israeli soldiers positioned in a nearby field after “minor clashes” broke out.
Troops surrounded a group of people praying, and Palestinians began to throw stones, which the soldiers responded to with teargas and live ammunition.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they were looking into the report that troops had killed a foreign national while firing at an “instigator of violent activity”.
