Has anyone else noticed that the NatACT First government is pretty much running David Cameron's 2010-2016 austerity strategy? Right down to running a referendum they think they'll lose, as a sop to the racist redneck vote.

A 26-year-old American-Turkish woman has been shot dead in the occupied West Bank during a protest on Friday, where Israeli forces opened fire.

Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who is a citizen of both the US and Turkey, was taking part in a protest against Jewish settlement expansion in the town of Beita near Nablus.

The IDF said it was "looking into reports that a foreign national was killed as a result of shots fired in the area".

Does someone want to remind him how Android is architected? Even though consumer Android is becoming incredibly more “Google” as time goes on, the core remains entirely separate from system and user apps. There’s a very good reason embedded devices choose Android, it’s because it’s an excellent platform to build an ecosystem on without someone else dictating all the rules. (Source: I worked on such a device.)

Americans misunderstand their contribution to deteriorating environment

A global survey suggests 88 percent of people are worried about the state of nature.

While it is true that the general public shares some of the blame for climate change, corporations are the biggest guilty party by a country mile.

C-Suite executives aren't innocent, smol beans, only responding to market demand. There are plenty of environmentally harmful practices they refuse to change because they want the line to go up eternally.

'There can’t be many voters, let alone economists, who don’t see this as madness. George Osborne sold austerity to the nation in 2010 with a bad yet persuasive metaphor, filched from Margaret Thatcher, comparing the state to a household: it can’t go on spending more than it makes for ever and ever; eventually debts are called in. Back then, the obvious riposte – that the state isn’t a household and shouldn’t be run like one – won over only a few. But no one still thinks the state is like a household now.'
